ABOUT US
The Firm was established by Nedim Karako in 1970 in Istanbul. In the beginning, the Firm was involved in general litigation, foreign investments, intellectual property law, labor law and commercial law, and then expanded its services to a wide range of areas such as banking law, financial law, aviation law, transportation law, real estate transactions, international legal affairs and M&A projects.
Nedim Karako is leading the Firm with his experience of more than 40 years and his passion for his work from the very first day of the Firm.
The Firm has a broad range of clientele, including aircraft lessees, lessors, aircraft maintenance and repair stations, traders, freight forwarders, motorboat and yacht sellers, underwriters, reinsurers, insurance brokers, banks and finance institutions. The clients are based in Turkey and as well as outside Turkey.
The Firm has strong links with many international law firms and is able to offer its local clients legal assistance in foreign jurisdictions.
English, French and German are fluently spoken in the Firm. The Firm operates on a 24-hour a day basis.
The aim of the Firm is to provide efficient and teamwork oriented legal services in accordance with ethical and international standards.

The focus of the Firm is Aviation Law, Corporate Law, Labor Law, Litigation, Banking & Finance Law, Foreign Investment Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Intellectual Property, Transportation Law and Data Protection & Privacy.

Our Team consists of eight attorneys and operates under consultancy and litigation sub-divisions. The Firm collaborates with specialists in other fields of expertise, as well. That collaboration might be on international, local or geographical basis, if necessary.

Nedim KARAKO
Founding Partner
Nedim was born in 1945 in Istanbul. He obtained his LL.B. at Istanbul University Law Faculty in 1967. In 1968, he has been admitted to Istanbul Bar Association. Nedim founded the Firm in 1970 and since he is working as senior partner of the Firm.
Nedim has been accepted and registered as arbitrator and mediator in various international intellectual property organizations and arbitration institutions. He speaks English, French and Spanish.

Cem KARAKO, LL.M.
Partner
Cem was born in 1981 in Istanbul. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in law from Istanbul University Law Faculty in 2004. He graduated from the International Institute of Air and Space Law, University of Leiden, cum laude, in 2008. In 2005, he has been admitted to Istanbul Bar Association. Since 2004, Cem has been acting as legal counsel in the Firm. He was also guest lecturer on air law at Yeditepe University Law Faculty, Istanbul between 2009 and 2015. Cem speaks English and German.

Sümeyra was born in 1994 in Heidelberg. She obtained her LLB at Dokuz Eylül University Law Faculty in 2017. She was admitted to the İzmir Bar Association in 2018. Since 2021, she has been admitted to the İstanbul Bar Association.
Sümeyra joined the Firm in 2023. She speaks English.

Senanur was born in 2002 in Sivas. She obtained her LL.B. at Istanbul University Law Faculty in 2025. She expects to be admitted to Istanbul Bar Association in November 2026.
